KMVT Board of Directors

Board of Directors Roster - 6/20/01

Mountain View Community Television has been operating as an independent nonprofit corporation since 1989. The station's Board of Directors is made up of fifteen members from the community who oversee the operation of Channel 15. Each member is elected by the current board. Terms are three years and staggered so that only five board positions become available each year. Each director is a voting member. Also represented as Ex-Officio members are the City of Mountain View, Mountain View Community Television's General Manager, and the Cable Operator, AT&T. These seats are non-voting.

In KMVT's early years as a nonprofit, the board worked diligently to ensure that the station's operational structure was sound, and its foundation stable to ensure the organization's future would be bright. The leadership the board provided during these years played a pivotal role in the station's later successes.

The communications industry is changing so quickly today that the board is continually faced with unique opportunities and challenges. The board has thus shifted its focus from operations to growth, collaboration, and fundraising. To bring Mountain View Community Television into the twenty-first century, and to continue providing all Mountain View residents unfettered access to the emerging world of electronic media, the Board of Directors must demonstrate exemplary vision and provide strong leadership to the community.
